Ready for Christmas

What a nice weekend!  The littlest got to go celebrate her best friend's birthday with her at Chucky Cheese. I wasn't there, so I don't have any pictures, but she came home all smiles and told me what an amazing time she had! Then yesterday, we had a surprise 2nd Thanksgiving, so that was awesome! We also got ready for the winter.  I set out all the baskets of hats, scarves, and mittens.  I especially love the homemade ones from my childhood that my girls use to this day. We set up and decorated the Christmas tree and it looks so beautiful in our little living room. We'll probably put some more decorations out today, maybe mix up some home made hot cocoa and cappuccino mixes, and read some Christmas stories. The girls also got into their advent calendar today (thanks Rachel!)  and decided they will split each piece of chocolate everyday instead of taking turns. We have all had such a lovely time this week, snuggling and spending time together. I'm really going to miss the girls when they have to go back to school tomorrow.

Thanksgiving

The girls woke up to Thanksgiving surprises from their grandparents. Then after watching a little bit of the parade, we headed out. We had a wonderful time, although we really missed the family that couldn't be there.  All the little details, the delicious food, the crafts for the girls to do, and the wonderful company made yesterday so special.

I hope everyone else had as wonderful of a Thanksgiving as we did.

The Little Ones' Wonderful Winter Day

It snowed. A lot! It was just amazingly beautiful when we awoke. The girls went outside right after breakfast and we stayed out there for as long as possible. Snow angels, snow forts, snowball fights, sledding, and a happy snowman that they ended up painting. I made the girls hot chocolate and we snuggled and watched Garfield and Friends.

I'm not positive, but I am pretty sure that I am the luckiest person alive.....at least days like this make me feel like I am.

Works in Progress

When you walk into our home (as some of you already know)  you'll see a happy mess, rambunctious girls, plants, and a lot of different projects randomly throughout the rooms. Something being knitted here, an embroidery there, something growing near a window, and a continuous flow of drawings and other works of art.  It has been very chilly and rainy here lately, and the girls have been looking for different things to do.  Little one asked me if I would teach her how to knit again, and littlest one asked if I would teach her to "loom" and I eventually figured out she meant weave. After trying to convince little one to finish her work on her peg loom, or even just carefully take it off the loom so her younger sister could use it, I finally decided to make a loom out of cardboard for littlest.  They both did very well, and have really taken to their new crafts! I am happy to see random knitting around the house now that isn't MINE!!  It just warms my heart!
