Sickness and Healing

All of us but my oldest are sick with colds. Jeromy even stayed home from school today. They've all been snuggling around the living room watching She-ra and playing games.  I've been going through stuff, folding/hanging laundry, and doing dishes when I can, and napping when I cannot. Really rainy out today, and I feel pretty terrible, but I'm smiling! I don't know when it happened exactly, but I just feel like my eyes are finally open, like completely open for the first time in my life.  I am happy quite often, and always thankful for what I'm given..... even if what I'm given is a cold, and a rainy day! There are so many other things to be happy about, that it's okay. I am in love with my family, in love with my life, and I can look at myself in the mirror and know that I am an honest, caring, and loving person who always tries my best.  I guess I'm finally comfortable in my own skin, and done with letting others' abuse and rudeness dictate how I feel about myself.  I wish I knew what changed, or what happened so I could tell other people who feel like I used to feel. Whatever it was, I am truly glad! Have a great night!

Lately, at our house....

The kids have been sewing bears all by themselves, getting "mermatized" (turned into mermaids), baking scottish shortbreads, setting leprechaun traps about the house and all other kinds of shenanigans. The girls made their own St. Patrick's Day lunches and YES that is dry Lucky Charms and pickles on their plates! We've been decorating for Easter, watching Easter shows, and coloring a lot of pictures. All of us have been playing Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver.  Jeromy taught our youngest how to play chess. The girls and I got new sneakers that we all REALLY needed. This weekend we all just vegged out for the most part cause the kiddos are sick.  With all the snuggling we've been doing I'm surprised I haven't caught it yet! Off to do more sewing.  I hope I am able to finish everyone's Easter gifts!!!!

Royal Ball Weekend

I know I should have written about this sooner, but it's just been so hectic lately. A couple weekends ago we went to Strong again for their "Royal Ball Weekend".  It was crazy busy, and our day started out with a very terrible scavenger hunt in the parking lot. NEVER AGAIN!! If you want to go to the museum when an event is going on Get There When They Open! Lesson learned the hard way!!! However, after all of that we had an enjoyable time. We saw a production of Beauty and the Beast. We made new crowns and scepters.  They got their hair braided at 'Rapunzel's Hair Salon', and had target practice at Sherwood Forest.  They waited in line to meet the queen. We met all sorts of characters such as jestors and pirates and archers and knights.  The girls fave was the queen though. Mine was the lady pirate.  She talked to the girls for quite a while despite the crowd, and gave them pirate treasure, and she was just fun! We stayed until they closed so the girls would have some time to just play, and then we returned the following weekend to meet Sister Bear.  It wasn't as busy (thank goodness) and we skipped karate and arrived when they opened so we could actually get a parking spot this time! This was my favorite visit to the museum so far. We started out early and we weren't so rushed to see EVERYTHING so we had a relaxed easy visit. Spent a lot of time at the arcade which was super fun! I'm so glad we were able to go.  Well, I'm off to go stitch with the girls.  They are making bears for each other. (so cute!!)
